TV stations should broadcast on the Internet (and not be restricted geographically)! Greatly expanded audience for the advertising and great service for people to watch a TV station anywhere it is or anywhere they are.
The government has required that TV stations broadcast "over the air", but that's so obsolete. The Internet is the new public medium!
It looks like at least the independent TV stations are now broadcasting their local news content on the Internet! At least KUSI is in San Diego. They report viewers from all over the world. http://www.kusi.com/category/197113/live-stream .
